Who runs the Index

A vendor running an index has to be transparent about it. Here is the full arrangement, including what we gain and what we have committed not to do.

The organiser

The Factory Excellence Index and factoryexcellenceawards.com are run by TEEPTRAK SAS, 155 boulevard Vincent Auriol, 75013 Paris, France. TEEPTRAK sells production-monitoring software used in more than 450 plants in over 30 countries.

TEEPTRAK pays for the site, the assessment and the coordination of the juries. Jurors are independent and may receive a fee for their time; the fee never depends on their decisions.

What we gain

Two things. First, aggregated insight into how plants manage performance, which we publish in the regional report. Second, the chance to talk to plants that want help. If you tick the box on the form, a regional contact may get in touch after your report. If you do not want that, you can say so on the form or at any time afterwards, and it changes nothing in how your plant is assessed.

What we have committed to

  • No purchase required. Plants using any system, or none, are assessed, verified and recognised by the same rules.
  • No TEEPTRAK employee sits on a jury. Sales staff never take part in judging and have no access to jury notes or interview recordings.
  • Customers get no advantage. Whether a plant is a customer of TEEPTRAK is not part of any decision, and jurors are not told.
  • The method is public. Every rule that affects a score is on the methodology page.
  • Recognition is not for sale. There is no entry fee, no paid 'winner package' and no paid logo licence.
  • Your answers are private. Nothing about a plant is published without its consent, and benchmarks are aggregated.

Why a vendor, and why this name

The Factory Excellence Awards started as an event brand. We turned it into a year-round index because a single evening can recognise a handful of plants, while an open, published method can help any plant see where it stands. The name stays; the model is new.
